The main embarkation point to Inishturk is Roonagh Pier, near Louisburgh, Co. Mayo.

Inishturk Passenger Ferry operates a daily service to the Island.
Please see ferry schedule for details. 

It is also possible to get to Inishturk from Cleggan Pier, Co. Galway via the Inishturk mail boat on Tuesdays & Thursdays only. (subject to change) Please contact J. Heanue (086-2029670)

Journey

Roonagh Pier is the main embarkation point for both Inishturk & Clare Island. Located approximately 6km from Louisburgh. 

Remember if visiting in summer time be sure to arrive at Roonagh in good time as there can be parking congestion.

It is always advisable to refer to the ferry company websites for times of sailings as these are subject to change throughout the year.

Tickets can be purchased from the Inishturk Passenger Ferry office at the Roonagh Pier car park prior to departure or pre-book your journey at https://inishturkpassengerferry.ie/

The journey from Roonagh to Inishturk Island takes approximately 50 minutes. Take in the spectacular views to the south of Mweelrea & the Twelve Bens whilst passing the islands of Caher & Ballybeg and to the north wonderful views of Clare island, Achill and also The Bills Rocks in the distance.

Why not take advantage of the seated top deck and watch Inishturk Island come into view.

Inishturk is a small beautiful island, 5km x 2.5km, located 9 miles (14.5km) off the west coast of Mayo. It rises boldly from the wild North Atlantic in wall-like cliffs to the northwest and steep hills to the north on which stands the ruins of the old signal tower 688 ft above sea level.
